Rivers and Valleys is a 3-day trip from Storulvån, via Tjallingdalen and Stensdalen to Vålådalen. It is an amzing experience to travel over frozen rivers and through steep-sided valleys.
 
The trip starts in Storulvån, straight after the morning train has arrived. Once you have a cup of coffee in you, preparations begin for the journey from Storulvån to Vålådalen. Food and equipment are packed in rucksack and pulk sleds, before lunch is eaten at the mountain station. When everything is ready, this journey on skis begins by travelling upstream along the frozen Handölan, to the tent camp at Tjallingen. Following a frozen river provides a sense of discovery. What’s hiding around the next corner?
 
The second day offers even more skiing through untracked terrain in the beautiful valley of Tjallingdalen. It is not unusual to see tracks form foxes and wolverine in this area. During the afternoon, on the trail between Gåsen and Stensdalen, there are a few downhill kilometres from the mountains to the cabin in the birch forest.
 
On the last day, the trip goes through the charming forests around Vålådalen, concluding at Vålådalen Mountain Station. All good things come to an end, even this journey. But hopefully a new journey has already begun, one towards more voyages of discovery. First a sauna and then – thank you and good bye, for now...!
 
In the evening you can either catch the night train home or stay at the mountain station.
